I’m Excited Where FatLossJoe Is Headed

Last Sunday I completed my 3rd 5k in 3 months and I’m just getting started. So far I’ve racked up 30 pounds of weight loss but when you start at 323 pounds you have to go in with the mindset that your in it for the long haul.
Losing weight and becoming fit is a marathon not a sprint. With that in mind I’m in no hurry because I’m actually starting to have fun on this journey.
There are things that I never thought I’d enjoy doing but I’ve learned that I never really gave them a chance in the first place. Here are a few things that have surprised me so far on my journey:
  1. I actually enjoy eating and cooking healthy foods. I always thought healthy foods tasted bad but now I know I just wasn’t using the right ingredients. Once I started hunting for healthy foods that used quality unprocessed ingredients the food started to become delicious. On top of that spending time in the kitchen after work was a great way to relax.
  2. I am a runner now. 4 months ago I was a couch potato  With hard training and consistency  I transformed myself into a runner. I was gasping for air jogging for 2 mins straight now I can run a 5k.I’ve discovered how better I feel going to work when I run first thing in the morning. It’s almost a cleansing experience.
  3. I seriously enjoy lifting weights. I joined a gym a month ago and I took to that like a duck to water. Like running, weight lifting is a competition with yourself. A guy next to you lifting 300 pounds doesn’t matter. All that matters is the weight you are working with and pushing yourself to find that next level.
Where is this journey headed? I have no clue because I am open to any and all challenges.What I do know is my blog FatLossJoe will show where I’ve been, where I am and where I am going. I’m throwing down a gauntlet for myself and I can’t wait to see where I’ll be 3 months from now because the last three months have been a game changer!
