Finding What Works For You

There are millions of ‘healthy’ people in this world. And, unfortunately  there are millions more ‘unhealthy’ people in the world. The definition of health encompasses a person’s physical, mental and social well being and the absence of diseases or illnesses! No where in that definition does ‘healthy’ mean we have to eat at a certain time or work out a certain way or not eat something we enjoy or eat something we don’t enjoy.
It seems everyone is always trying to figure out the big secret that will change our lives and forever make us skinny and fit. I named my blog Shh…Fit Happens, because I believe fit really does happen, although it isn’t always easy, and the secret is to just find what works for you when it comes to health, and ultimately, happiness. There is no ONE way to work out, we are all different, and that is a beautiful thing.
Some people Crossfit to stay in shape, some people swear by yoga every day, some people run their little hearts out, some people take evening walks, some are vegans, some think the fat on a steak is the healthiest part. What works for you may not work for me, but there are probably hundreds of other people who share similar goals, fears, likes, and dislikes that you do. And sometimes, what may have worked for you in the past, may not be working now, whether it be you have less time or maybe you just lost interest in something or gained interest in something else. And that is a great thing! As humans, we are always changing, whether we like it or not, and our bodies are amazing machines that can adapt to change.
When it comes to working out, I am always changing things up! I am the type of person that gets bored very easily and therefore, my blog is sprinkled with variety! I love to talk about different workouts, putting new spins on the same old exercises, trying new challenges, interesting health facts, and hopefully, share some inspiration and humor along the way. While working out is not always going to be fun, and quite often we just have to suck it up and do it, we should at least enjoy it sometimes! Life is too short to not enjoy the gifts we were given!
Sarah is currently a boot camp instructor and health and fitness blogger who has been in the fitness industry for 10 years. She was a two sport college athlete majoring in Sports Management, she went on to work at a Weight Loss camp as her first job out of college, and has been working in Health Clubs on and off over the past 7 years as a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, and sales consultant.
