Fitblogger Reviews is getting ready to open it’s doors, surprise! I know it’s fun to surprise you all from time to time. It’s hard since you’re all so in the know and I’m a blabbermouth.

The Problem

We are getting a lot of product review requests right now and I know that a lot of other bloggers do too. Also, like me, you guys are tried out a million bazillion videos, read books, bought fitness equipment, etc. over the years and have a lot to say about it.

When you look at fitness and exercise review sites online they are usually a giant ad (think textual Adsense barfed on the site) which are trying to trick you into accidentally clicking an ad when you really want to know if video XYZ is made for your fitness level.

The Solution

Fitblogger Reviews will become part of Fitblogger (it actually already is!) and I would like your help to populate the posts with all of your amazing knowledge of fitness equipment, videos and wellness products you’ve tried.

I would like the posts to follow a certain template to provide consistency and there is a rating system for each product type.

For example, the post that is up on Fitblogger Reviews is an example of the format for Fitness Videos section and has a rating system that looks like this:

Overall Quality

Overall Difficulty

Progressive Difficulty

Quality of Instruction

Calorie Burn

Sweat Factor

Space Needed

The review categories are:

Electronics

Equipment

Videos

Apparel (shoes included)

Nutrition (food, etc.)

Wellness Products (fitness related, misc)

The posts will need to follow a certain structure, and will need to be original. If you reviewed a product on your blog already, by all means suggest that one, you’re welcome to re-write the post so it fits into this format and is original content.

And what do you get for all this hard work? Well, I think this could become an incredible resource for a lot of people and when you complete a review post for the site, the product links contained within will be YOUR affiliate links. If you review a video, your amazon links will go in there. If you review a pair of shoes, those go in there too.

All reviews will also have a link back to the authors blog at the end of the post.

Unlike with articles, before writing your reviews, I would like you send me your product idea first.

We have a number of outstanding product review commitments with companies at any given time so those will need to be honoured.  Also, someone may have spoken for the particular product already and I won’t want anyone wasting their time writing something we already have in the works.

When you submit a review idea, I will forward along the format/headings that I would like included.

You can make submissions for product reviews in the same place as always, there is just a new section on the contribute page now!
