Depending on the day, I’ll wear whatever hat fits; Dietitian, marathoner, yogi, educator, kitchen
experimenter, and/or blogger.
I write about what motivates, inspires, or moves me (or gets me moving!).
I talk to anyone who will listen, or listen to anyone who will talk, about running or food – both of those things seem to create and define my adventures.
My favorite things about blogging are the relationships it creates, and the avenue it allows for spreading and seeking information!
Over the past year I’ve run two marathons (my first, and second), moved from DC to Denver, and started a whole new life in the world of health and fitness.
Endurance training has taught me to question the limits, test physical boundaries, and realize what you’re truly capable of. In the meantime, I started practicing Yoga and have never looked back.
I’m far from being the most flexible person in the room (thank you, runners’ hips!), but have an insatiable taste for the way it forces you to be in tune with every muscle, every feeling, and every moment.
I’ve learned more about food, eating healthy, and achieving balance, from my daily life and experience than I ever could have through my education alone. I value my professional certification as a Registered Dietitian, but believe in learning what works for you through your own trial and error.
Trying to run on the wrong nutrients will teach you very quickly that your body demands the same of you that you expect of your muscles!
Dietitian on the Run is mix of all of the above; my daily anecdotes about training, trying new recipes with new foods, testing my lactic acid threshold with new forms of exercise, focusing on and chasing goals, and breaking into the world of sports dietetics in Denver, and exploring the trails, breweries, shops and local eats that Colorado has to offer!
Please head on over and say hit to Heather at Dietician on the Run!
