Today’s Featured Blog is Foodie Fresh.
You know the saying:
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Foodie Fresh is about one girl’s quest to do things differently; to find happiness and health by balancing what she loves most about life.
Although now a confident adventurer in the kitchen who loves trying new things and is currently training for her first marathon, Kelly was not always so brazen.
For most of her life, Kelly labeled herself as “not athletic” and was more comfortable doing the things she knew she could do successfully.
Her doubts in herself were holding her back from trying new things and reaching her full potential. Her insecurities about herself often showed up in her eating habits as she was constantly dieting or beating herself up over what she should and shouldn’t eat.
All that changed as she accepted love in her life and learned to love herself.
By challenging herself both physically and creatively through running and cooking, Kelly has opened herself up to a whole new world of whole foods, healthy eating, long distance running, and being happy in the moment.
Swing by Foodie Fresh, to see what Kelly’s cooking up this week in the kitchen, to check out her last long run, or to read an inflexible girl’s introduction to yoga.

Oh yes, I know that saying all too well. It was my mantra for a while this year.

Learning to love yourself is hard. I still beat myself up when I don’t eat well. Thankfully, I’m not as bad as I used to be.

I can completely relate to Kelly’s journey! My outlets are different though. I just throw myself into learning new things! I tackle a new activity every year with my husband. It is our anniversary present to each other! I used to be completely afraid of anything new!

Thanks Colleen! As hokey as it sounds sometimes, it really is the key! Everything we do and how we do it stems from whether or not we love ourselves. It’s so simple, but so hard sometimes.
