My name is Angela and I blog at Happy Fit Mama. I’ve always had a love of fitness my whole life. That love eventually led to graduating with a B.S. in Exercise Science after initially starting college thinking I wanted to be a Financial Planner. Slightly different career path change, no? By day I’m a Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist(CES) from the American College of Sports Medicine in Cardiac Rehabilitation. Although I’ve worked as a personal trainer in the past, my specialty is in the clinical side of fitness. By night, I’m a wife to one husband (who could really handle more than one?), Mama to boy/girl twin toddlers and a silly Chocolate Lab, Cooper.
I have a deep love for running. I love how it makes me feel more than how it makes me look (added bonus). Why do I run? Because I can! When I am tired and dragging up a big hill, I think of all those who WISH they could run. I’ve run three half marathons (one was 4 months after having the twins) and plan on running my first marathon in 2012.
Yoga is also a love of mine. Before my kids were born in 2010, I practiced at least three times per week. Sadly, that was one of the things that got put on the back burner as the daily hustle of life with kids progressed. I vowed at the beginning of the 2012 to make yoga a priority. So far, it’s looking pretty good! I’m getting in some form of practice at least one day a week.
Happy Fit Mama is all about fitness and healthy eating. I blog about running, yoga, strength training and new workouts such as The Barre Method and Aerial Yoga. Running is my old stand-by but I like to mix it up and try new things. I like to experiment in the kitchen, too. My goal is to feed my family the most natural and organic food available. My blog occasionally features recipes for anyone from toddlers to adults (even 38 year adults who have palates more like toddlers, aka my husband!)
Come check out my blog to follow me as I try to live a happy fit life!
