Work It. Wear It. Eat It.

I’m Danielle and the author behind the blog “Work It. Wear It. Eat It” and I’m so excited to be visiting FitBlogger.com! I’m a newly 26 year old girl (should I be saying “woman” yet?  …nah) trying to make it in the real world while following my heart, all while staying fit, eating clean and keeping the wine and dessert to a minimum ☺ Here’s a closer look at the inner-workings of my beloved blog!

Work It.

I have never been an athlete. Never. I quit soccer at age 4 because I “didn’t like to sweat” and never played another sport again! Through high school I did some competitive dancing and aerobics in school, but for the 4 years I was in university, the most exercise I got was dancing at the bar until 3am and then walking home eating pizza (I wish I was kidding!)
In 2009, I lost both of my Grandparents on my Mum’s side to heart disease. At the time, I was still sedentary and a very poor eater. Going through this loss helped me to realize that I could help myself and prevent history from repeating itself simply by caring for and respecting my body.  I began to run as often as I could, slowly building up my endurance (which was non-existent in the first week!) and within 3 months, I crossed the finish line in my first half marathon. I have never looked back. Today, I am an avid runner (shooting for the PRs!), weight lifter, and now certified personal trainer and boot camp instructor. I read this and still can’t believe I am talking about myself!

Wear It.

So as much as I love fitness, fashion was my first love. I never expected Lululemon to be such a huge part of my wardrobe but alas, I like to look cute while working out too ☺ Losing weight and getting in shape has helped me to feel more confident in my clothing than ever before, so of course I had to incorporate this into my blog. I love to share my shopping hauls and outfits of the day!

Eat It.

I am a foodie. Not one of those “bad food doesn’t even taste good to me” people. I love all sorts of food that is bad for me (but tastes delicious) and I fight everyday to retrain my body and my mind into understanding that food is fuel. I also understand that there is a time and a place for indulgence and I welcome it with very open arms! I love to find ways to eat clean while feeding my cravings and my sweet tooth (read: dates!) and I think it is what keeps clean eating fun and easy! What’s more exciting than a new recipe? Every week I hit up the Farmer’s Market and try out new recipes. If they’re a hit, I share them on my blog!

I pride myself in being a real person on my blog, I don’t paint a perfect picture of myself, I share the good and the bad, I am a real person and I want my readers to feel that. I hope you’ll come visit so we can share workouts, fashion tips and of course, delicious recipes!
